-CMHPG Cross Link systems – low and high pH – instant or delayed options

-Titanium Cross Link Systems – Extreme heat

  • When creating an emulsion, water droplets are suspended in the oil phase of the fluids. The stability of an emulsion—or the time required for the oil and water to separate—is often dependent upon the solid, paraffin, asphaltene, and organic acid content of the produced fluids.

We have a diverse line of demulsifiers specifically designed to achieve rapid oil-water separation, and we test each site independently to provide a complete analysis of product compatibility and functionality. Our trained representatives will also survey your production and separation systems, making recommendations to provide optimum treatment rates and application sites.

  • An oil reservoir’s recovery process involves three phases: primary, secondary, and tertiary recovery.

Tertiary methods are called Enhanced Oil Recovery methods (EOR) and are mostly applied in mature oil fields with a declining production trend after primary and secondary methods or immediately after primary production phase.

These EOR methods imply injection of gases or fluids to mobilize residual oil captured in reservoir rock due to presence of strong viscous and capillary forces and high value of interfacial tension between fluid and rock. Recovery increase by these methods can be 15-25%.

Chemical options Iron Horse can provide:

    • Nanotechnology

    • Surfactant

    • Polymer

    • Alkaline

    • Alkali- Surfactant – Polymer

  • Foamers have been used for decades in the oil and gas industry to help lift solids such as sand or drill cuttings out of the wellbore. Foaming agents generate a more permeable surface for gas to form to unload fluid and be used as an alternative method to plunger lifts.

Anti-foam additives are added in cementing and acidizing applications to prevent foaming during completion.

Defoamers are added in various applications in the oil and gas industry to eliminate foaming issues.

  • Friction reducers are utilized during drilling and stimulation activities in unconventional reservoirs to reduce friction created by pumping large volumes of water and proppant at high rates.

Friction reducers lower the amount of turbulence and reduce friction losses during these pumping activities by improving the water and pipe interaction matrix.

The vast amount of resource plays in North America create a varying degree of friction reducer requirements, so there are numerous options to treat. These products are adapted job specific based on formation, fluid system design, water quality, reservoir characteristics, and desired pressure as examples.

IHC can design and provide the exact chemistry for any hydraulic fracturing application.

  • The 4 things necessary for Hydrates to form are:

Free Water, Natural Gas, Low temperatures and High Pressure

IHC can provide chemical solutions to disrupt the formation of hydrates with solutions that include:

    • Thermodynamic inhibitors with methanol and/or glycol injected into the system as a form of “anti-freeze.”

    • Inject kinetic inhibitors that delay hydrate nucleation and/or growth.

    • Anti-agglomerates to prevent agglomeration of hydrate crystals.

    • Combinations of thermodynamic inhibitors with kinetic inhibitors and anti-agglomerates.

  • Minimization or removal of iron in production fluid is essential to maintain or enhance applications in acidizing, fracturing, production equipment such as jet pumps, reduce pipeline solids, and water treating and disposal. The precipitation of iron and iron corrosion by-products can create a negative impact of all facets of the oil and gas industry:

    • Reduced permeability in reservoirs

    • Damage or reduction of injectivity in water disposal and water injection systems

    • Solids creation in surface equipment reducing treatment effectiveness and creating treatment issues such as gummy bears and oil /water interfacial pads

    • Pipeline deposits- offering areas for bacterial growth

    • Creating sludging in acidizing systems, reducing treatment effectiveness

Iron Horse Chemicals has developed a full catalog of iron control agents to minimize and eliminate iron related issues, including:

    • Iron Chelating Agents

    • Iron Reducing Agents

    • Iron Dissolvers

    • Oxidizers

  • The development of nanoparticle surfactants allows our clients to further enhance their flow back and initial production on newly fractured wells by delivering smaller particles into smaller spaces in the reservoir. This increases the hydrocarbon production of our clients’ wells and increases the effectiveness of our specific well designed fluid system.

Nano particles reduce interfacial tension and can provide wettability modification, thus enhancing the production process. They improve the stimulation fluid interaction near the newly created and propped fracture, and throughout the entire propped fracture network. This helps increase initial oil and gas production.

The Iron Horse Chemicals NK series of surfactants are tested and proven to enhance hydrocarbon production with as low as 0.25 GPT treat rate added to the fluid package.

  • Hydrocarbon Flow Management (HFM) is an all-encompassing chemistry and service offering for the oil and gas industry provided by Iron Horse Chemicals.
